As your motivation to explore progresses you will find that you may want to go deeper to dive that wreck that is part of history or that cave system that you have read so much about. One of the major limiting factors of going deeper is narcosis; TDI’s Trimix Diver course shows you how to minimize the effects of narcosis by using helium in place of a percentage of the nitrogen in your breathing gas.
What you learn
You'll learn how to plan and execute dives using as little as 18% oxygen, and diving to maximum depth of 60m, with a blend of helium appropriate for the planned depth. The course covers topics and skills like:
- Dive team planning
- Gas matching
- Cylinder labeling
- Surface marker deployment
- Equipment configuration
- Thermal protection options
Upon successful completion you will be certified to dive using Trimix
with a minimum oxygen content of 18% to a maximum depth of 60m.
To enrol on this course, you must:
- be a minimum of 18 years old
- hold a certification of Advanced Nitrox Diver and
Decompression Procedures Diver or equivalent
- have 100 logged dives, of which 25 must be deeper than 30m.
4-days. This course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gasses containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 60m.
You will need a full set of diving kit including a Oxygen clean manifolded twinset with a combined volume of at least 4,600 litres, fitted to a wing buoyancy system. Also, two 7ltr side-slung oxygen-clean cylinders
