TDI Extended Range
The TDI Extended Range course teaches you the proper techniques for utilizing compressed air as a breathing gas and oxygen enriched mixtures as a decompression gas, to a maximum depth of 55m, meaning you won’t have to miss those great dives ever again.
What you learn
The course covers topics and skills like:
- Equipment requirements and configuration
- Decompression options
- Use of surface marker buoys
- Buddy rescue
- Narcosis checks and management
Upon successful completion you will be certified to carry out dives
up to 55m using air as your bottom gas and oxygen enriched mixtures as your decompression gas.
To enrol on this course, you must:
- be a minimum of 18 years old
- hold a certification Advanced Nitrox Diver and
Decompression Procedures Diver or equivalent
- have 100 logged dives of which 25 must be deeper than 30m.
4-days. The course concentrates on the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air (55m maximum) utilising nitrox and oxygen for accelerated decompression. The course places a great deal of emphasis on personal and team limits, shut down procedures, gas switching, DSMB deployment and contingency planning. 100 minutes bottom time required for certification.
You will need a full set of diving kit including a Oxygen clean manifolded twinset with a combined volume of at least 4,600 litres, fitted to a wing buoyancy system. Also, a 7ltr side-slung oxygen-clean cylinder and reg.
